Connection jaws are the functional link between the inductor and the inverter. They handle two critical tasks at once: electrical contact and continuous cooling of the inductor and coaxial transformer. Without a precisely manufactured, correctly aligned connection jaw, the entire induction process loses repeatability and service life.
Additional stresses act inside the machine room: quenchants, steam, oil mist and mechanical vibration. These influences attack material, seals and contact surfaces, causing gradual functional faults.

Connection pieces are wear parts and are mechanically stressed at every tool change (inductor change). A connection piece that doesn't seat correctly, or a worn connection jaw, can lead to increased transition resistances, overheating and, in the worst case, burns at the contact surface. This can damage both the inductor and the connection jaw, causing unplanned downtime and additional repair costs.
Sealing: protecting the machine room
Another important aspect is the connection jaw's seal, which reliably separates the working chamber from the machine room. If this seal is worn or damaged, quenchant can penetrate the machine room. That risks carrying scale and other contamination with it, causing short circuits, contaminating the X and Y axes, and leading to increased wear or serious consequential damage to the machine.
